PROFILE:
Tamara A. O’Brien (“Tammy”) joined the firm in 1999 and practices in the
areas of business and general civil litigation. Tammy also has
extensive experience in appellate practice and in tort
litigation. She has argued before the Supreme Court of Ohio and
the federal Courts of Appeal.
She began her career as a
judicial law clerk/staff attorney for the Honorable William R. Baird of
the Court of Appeals of Ohio, Ninth Appellate District. She has also
been an adjunct professor of law at the University of Akron and, for
several years, has been selected on numerous occasions by the Supreme
Court of Ohio to serve as a
Reader of the State Bar Examination.
Tammy is a graduate
of
Cleveland- Marshall College of Law (J.D., cum laude, 1992) and received
her undergraduate degree from the University of Akron (B.A., Ed., magna
cum laude, 1989). Among her professional accolades, she has twice
been named a "Super Lawyer/Rising Star" in Cincinnati Magazine's list
of top lawyers in Ohio less than 40 years of age. She is active
in the Akron Bar Association, is a Barrister in the Scanlon Inn of
Court, and serves on the Summit County Facilities Review Board. She is
a graduate of Leadership Akron and is past president of the Board of
Trustees for H.M. Life Opportunity Services.
